Roofing in Greater Boston
Your roof takes the worst of New England — ice dams in February, wind off the water, ninety-degree sun in July — and it either sheds all of it or lets it into your house. North Point Construction replaces and repairs roofs across Greater Boston with the details this climate demands, not the minimums a warranty card requires.
NThe Work
Why roof with North Point
A roof is a system: shingles, underlayment, ice-and-water barrier, flashing, and ventilation working together. Skimp on any one and the others can’t save it. We build the whole system, photograph the work as it goes, and leave you with a roof you can stop thinking about.
Built for ice dams
Ice-and-water barrier at eaves and valleys and balanced attic ventilation — the two-part answer to the ice-dam damage this region knows too well.
Flashing, not caulk
Chimneys, walls, and valleys get metal flashing detailed correctly. Caulk is a maintenance product, not a roofing strategy.
Full tear-off honesty
We strip to the deck, replace rotten sheathing at a disclosed per-sheet price, and never shingle over problems you’ll pay for twice.
A clean property after
Tarped landscaping, magnetic nail sweeps, same-day debris removal. The only evidence we were there is the roof.

We chart the existing roof and attic airflow, plan materials and price with you, build in a tight window — most homes are stripped and shingled in one to three days — and deliver photos of the finished details you can’t see from the ground. If a repair honestly buys you years, we say so; not every roof needs replacing today.
NQuestions
Roofing FAQs
How do I know if I need a new roof or a repair?
Age, granule loss, curling shingles, and what the attic shows tell the story. We inspect both sides, show you photos, and price both paths when repair is a genuine option — the honest answer is sometimes the smaller job.
What causes ice dams, and can a new roof stop them?
Heat escaping into the attic melts snow that refreezes at the cold eaves. A new roof helps with ice-and-water barrier at the edges, but the full fix pairs it with ventilation and air sealing — we assess all of it in the estimate.
How long does a roof replacement take?
Most single-family homes take one to three days on site, weather permitting. We schedule around forecasts and never leave a roof open overnight.
Do you replace the plywood under the shingles?
We replace what is actually rotten or delaminated, at a per-sheet price disclosed in your estimate — so the number can move only for a reason you can see, and you’re never billed for mystery wood.
Is the work under warranty?
Shingles carry the manufacturer’s warranty, and we put our workmanship commitment in writing in your contract — ask about coverage details at your estimate.
